Acer Reveals New Iconia Tablet at CES 2012

Acer has declared that their new Iconia Tab Android tablet will have a Full HD 1,920 x 1,080 resolution screen and will run on a full-HD quad-core Tegra 3 processor.

Even though only minimal detail about the tablet is available, the NVIDIA Tegra 3 system and quad-core processor alone makes this device a competitor of Asus' Eee PAd Transformer Prime.

The information about this Android Ice Cream Sandwich tablet was disclosed by the company in a press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 which was supposed to focus on the company's cloud-based ventures, but ended up revealing the tablet, reports T3.

According to reports, the 1.3GHz Tegra 3 processor-run device has a 1080p "IPS quality" screen. The company spokesman stated that, "It's actually made by another company so we can't call it IPS, but IPS quality."

The spokesman further added, "In fact, it has better colours and contrast than IPS," reports Expert Reviews.

Acer stated that at present the device is a concept model and thus no official launch date has been declared or confirmed by the company, however.
