On Thursday, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server became the first Linux distribution for Dell's latest cloud offering based on VMware software - Dell Cloud with VMware vCloud Datacenter Service.

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is known for offering users the "broadest app portfolio and optimisation with VMware cloud infrastructure suite."

After this latest move, Dell customers will be able to efficiently run a number of ISV applications with high performance, and, at the same time, receive streamlined support from SUSE as well as Dell over Dell public and also private cloud offerings, reports Market Watch.

Vice president, Cloud Solutions, at Dell, Ricky Santos, commented, "Dell Cloud is about enabling customers to do business on their terms. That means providing access to the right hardware, applications and data as customer demand warrants."

About the partnership, the vice president added that this will enable Dell to provide outstanding performance as well as support for their customers who are looking for "scalable Linux services on-demand."

SUSE is popular for delivering interoperability, reliability along with performance that the customers require to enhance the benefits of cloud.
