Facebook has come up with a brand new offering to lure its over 800 million users deeper into the whirlpool of social media.
The US based social media giant announced on Thursday it is rolling out a new "Listen With" button which would allow subscribers of popular music services like Spotify and Rdio to share and enjoy the same song simultaneously at both ends.
To exploit the new offering, however, both parties must be subscribed to that particular service.
In order to listen together with his/her Facebook buddy, the user needs to hover the cursor over the other user's name, and then select the "listen with" button. And just in case they want to have a chat while enjoying the song, they can use the chat sidebar that accompanies the offering.
"Only the people you've shared your listening activity with can see when you're listening with a friend," Facebook explained in its Help Center platform.
"You can control privacy settings in music apps when you install the app or on your app settings page after you've installed the app. You can also remove songs you listened to from your timeline on your private activity log," the post added.
