Android Powered Smartphone with 12-Button Keypad to Be Released in Japan

The largest carrier in Japan, KDDI au, recently launched five new Android powered smartphones for their local Japanese market. Out of the five smartphones, it is the candy-bar Android 2.3 Gingerbread grabbing headlines all over the world.

It has a heavily customised user interface with a 12-button keypad and has been named INFOBAR C02. According to reports, a similar mobile phone was introduced by the same carrier by the name INFOBAR C01 which was lighter and more compact than the latest one.

The latest smartphone features a 3.2 inch touch screen with 854 x 480 resolution along with an 8 mega pixel CMOS camera, digital TV tuner, CDMA/GSM/GPRS, e-wallet function, infrared, Bluetooth 3.0+EDR, WiFi, USB and microSDHC ports, reports Phone Review.

The overall size of the device is 130 x 52 x 12.3mm and 106 grams. However, the most attractive part of the device is its redesigned iida user interface.

The carrier company will release the device next month, but the company has yet to disclose the price of this adorable and unique Android based smartphone device. This device will be very popular with smartphone fans in Japan.
