LG Optimus Pad 3D Tablet Down To £350

by Desire Athow, 23 Jan, 2012 News

As part of its tablet clearout before the forthcoming Mobile World Congress, Carphone Warehouse has cut the price of the LG Optimus Pad - which was launched last year - to £350.

The device was the first to offer 3D display capabilities and the tablet alter ego of the LG Optimus 3D, complete with the same dual five megapixel camera with AF and LED flash which can record full HD video in 2D and 720p video in 3D.

Like the latter, it can record 3D videos and take 3D pictures. It has a 8.9-inch capacitive 3D display that supports resolutions up to 1280x768 pixels - a rather uncommon resolution - and is powered by a 1GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset.

It doesn't have any memory slot but packs 32GB onboard storage and 1GB RAM. Like most mainstream Android tablets, there are USB and HDMI ports, Wi-Fi, DLNA compatibility, Bluetooth, a front facing camera (a two megapixel model) as well as Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

In addition, its 6400mAh battery can power the tablet for roughly 10 hours. The tablet - which was exclusive to Carphone Warehouse at launch - cost a staggering £750, the most expensive mainstream tablet back then.
