Twitter - the unique blend of social media and microblogging platform, has acquired Canada based social news start up Summify.
Summify was initially founded in Romania, but later moved to Vancouver BC. The company is known for providing services that allow users to compile multiple news into a single page thereby facilitating efficient sharing.
After this new acquisition, it is highly likely that Summify's services will be integrated into Twitter, thus enabling users to take advantage of the unique platform provided by the latter from their respective profiles on the microblogging platform.
The financial aspects, as well as other terms and conditions involved in the deal were not disclosed by either of the companies though.
"We're extremely excited to announce that Summify has been acquired by Twitter! I know, right? We can hardly believe it ourselves!" stated Summify in a blog post.
"Our long-term vision at Summify has always been to connect people with the most relevant news for them, in the most time efficient manner. Since Twitter shared this vision with us, joining the company made perfect sense," it added.
