Motorola's RAZR XT910 Developer Edition now with unlockable bootloader

Motorola Mobility has dished out a brand new variant of its flagship RAZR smartphone. Dubbed the RAZR XT910 Developer Edition, this new offering comes with an unlocked bootloader, which allows users to install unauthorised codes such as different operating systems or custom ROMs.

At present, the device is available for pre-order in Europe and very soon it will be made available to the US market. This version is available for developers looking to create as well as test various Android applications in this latest handset.

The company stated that the latest Developer version "allows us to continue meeting our carrier and regulatory obligations, but also meets the needs being expressed by our developer community," reported Android Community. To date, Motorola Mobility have launched their devices as locked versions due to the company and its network carrier partners taking measures to avoid any modifications compromising the core user experience.

Concerning their latest device, the company disclosed via their Facebook's Motorola Europe page a post stating: "We've listened to the community of Android developers who have been asking for a path to unleash their creativity and today announce the availability in Europe of an unlockable version of our most in-demand product, the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition."

Priced at €499 ($657), the device is currently available for pre-order, however, it does not come with a warranty.
