Sky Go app will be made available for Android towards the end of February 2012, confirmed Sky. Through this application, Android based device owners will be able to access live broadcast through five Sky Sports channels, Sky New, ESPN, Sky Atlantic, Sky Living, Sky Arts besides 11 other Sky Movies channels.
However, to access these service the owner must subscribe to the special package for their Android device.
At the beginning, the Sky Go app for Android will be supported on HTC Desire, HTC Sensation, HTC Incredible S and Samsung Galaxy S.
The company also confirmed that by later this year, on demand access for Sky Movies will also be available. By March, Sky Sports F1 channel will go live on all Sky Go platforms.
Holly Knill, Head of Sky Go, stated: "Sky Go is all about helping more people watch the TV they love wherever and whenever it suits them, so I'm delighted to announce the roll out of Sky Go to Android", reported PC Advisor.
Last year, Sky TV introduced the Sky Go app for the Apple's iOS platform allowing users to enjoy on demand content and living TV on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
