Acer To Unveil CloudMobile Smartphone At MWC 2012
Acer announced today that it will be launching its top of the range CloudMobile smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Spain at the end of the month.
The device, which has received the iF design award for 2012, will go on sale in the third quarter of this year.
CloudMobile will interface with Acer's own AcerCloud technology which will allow users to store their data on the cloud and even print wirelessly using Acer Print.
Acer says that the CloudMobile will be less than 10mm thick with a Sleeve DNA design, that it claims, has "soft, wrapping contours which enhance the handheld experience".
The front of the CloudMobile is occupied by a 4.3-inch "fully laminated" HD display with a 1280x720 pixel display, support for Dolby, a rear camera with flash and a narrow bezel with the top edge containing tiny perforations for the earpiece.
Acer is expected to showcase its new Iconia tablet with a full HD screen at Mobile World Congress alongside a number of other smartphones, some of which may sport Ice Cream Sandwich.
The CloudMobile will be facing some tough competition from the likes of the HTC Ville and the Samsung Galaxy S3, which also come with an HD ready screen.
