Microsoft to Incorporate Tablet-style Controller in Xbox 720?

Following the revelations that Sony patented its own Wii-U tablet style controller, rumours have started circling the web that Microsoft is going to incorporate a touch screen controller in its next generation Xbox 720 gaming console to rival Sony and Nintendo.

The rumours were propagated by the Xbox World Magazine and later carried on by NeoGAF. It is being supposed by the magazine that the Xbox maker wants to introduce some new game titles that will be making use of this new touch screen controller. Also, chances are that the company is probably intending to upgrade the extra media functionality in it next generation gaming console.

The touch screen controller, as reported by Xbox World, has been designed to perform a wide range of tasks. It could act as a remote control while the user is using the TV, a browser when Internet is being accessed, or even buttons while playing games etc.

Microsoft may unveil its new improvised game console at the E3 show, which is going to be held in Los Angeles later this year. The company is going to reposition its Xbox 720 as a gaming platform that will brings games, augmented reality, directional sound and four-player finger tracking Kinect thus providing elevated gaming experience to gamers.
