Ticketmaster's subsidiary company customer database has been hacked

TicketWeb, a leading ticket agent, has confirmed that it is looking into the recent on-line attack that saw a certain "unauthorised party" accessing and contacting its database of customers.

TicketWeb happens to be a part of one of the UK's largest online agents, TicketMaster, which sells online tickets for a large majority of events including concerts, exhibition and clubs.

This breach was noticed when the customers in TicketWeb's database started receiving up to 4 emails on Saturday that instructed them to click on a particular software update. The company has assured that users' credit card information was not compromised during the attack.

TicketWeb has acted promptly and notified its customers about the attack, where it has further asked their customers not to fall into the trap and delete the emails immediately.

TicketWeb also confirmed that it has taken every possible measures to prevent any further attack on its network, and also that they are leaving no stones unturned to "resolve the concern" that resulted from the recent hacking.

"We are continuing to investigate this unauthorised access, and will send you a follow-up email when we have additional information," the company said in an official announcement, as reported by BBC News.
