HTC May be Cooking New Streaming Music Service
Asia's second largest smartphone maker HTC is reportedly developing a new music streaming service for the company's mobile devices.
According to a report by the tech site GigaOm, HTC intends to dish out the new service as a default music client on its tablet PCs as well as handsets. The report further claimed that the company is currently working out various aspects including the price for the new offering.
HTC seems to be reluctant in disclosing any details about this new music streaming service. Experts are of the opinion that, with a handful of vendors dishing out Android powered devices with more or less the same set of specs and features, this new offering could be HTC's trump card for making their devices stand out in the overcrowded Android market.
HTC may also be planning a wireless boombox that would allow users to play music from a mobile device using a Bluetooth connection. The Sensation maker could announce the new service during the Mobile World Congress to be hosted at Barcelona later this month. HTC has already announced a press conference during the event where a whole bunch of new products are expected to be unveiled.
