Centrify Enables Easy Integration of Android, iOS with Active Directory

Centrify has decided to address various enterprise concerns across consumerisation of IT and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend along with a new service which will bring iOS as well as Android smartphones directly under Active Directory control.

At present Centrify DirectControl for Mobile is available as public beta and it has been designed for extending Active Directory to various key mobile platforms. This enables administrators for securing corporate data on tablet computer and smartphones with the use of familiar management tools.

Tom Kemp, chief executive at Centrify, stated that, "We're building technology that allows people to take their iOS devices and their Android devices and enrol them with our cloud service, which in effect joins them into Active Directory on their organisation's domain," reported V3.

Now the administrators can utilise a group policy for setting "rules governing passwords", app restrictions and also plus device and according to the company, this will make mobile devices another computer of the network.

The customers have to install any Centrify Cloud Proxy Server present on the premise that will link their Active Directory infrastructure to Centrify's cloud service.
