Virtualisation company VMWare, has indicated that the company is supporting the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) which has been specifically designed for the promotion of security, trust and transparency within the cloud sector – making VMWare the largest industry player to support CIF as well as its Code of Practice.
In 2009 the Cloud Industry Forum was set up with the aim of offering transparency using the Code of Practice certificate given to credible providers of online Cloud services. The Forum also focused on assisting end users to determine the core information required in order to grant users to access the services.
The founder members of the Forum are well known within the Cloud arena, including the likes of Microsoft, Dell, Rackspace, Outssourcery Unit4, Rise as well as many others.
Director, VMware vCloud® and Service Providers, Gavin Jackson, Director, explained that VMWare was happy to announce their membership with CIF because the company “support the work it is doing to build end user confidence in cloud service delivery.”
He also went on to say that they “believe the Code of Practice for Cloud Service Providers, which aims to bring greater transparency and trust to doing business in the cloud, can drive consumer confidence in the market,” reported Infosecurity Magazine.Leave a comment on this article
