Xbox 720 Codename 'Durango' Confirmed by Crytek?

by Ravi Mandalia, 29 Feb, 2012 News

A tweet by a senior technical artist revealed that operating code name of Microsoft's upcoming Xbox will be "Durango."

Last year, in the month of June, reports were published that Redmond based software giant Microsoft's upcoming home grown gaming console will be introduced at E3 2012 and that Crytek has already got the hardware to use in developing TimeSplitters 4, one of the launch titles. However, Crytek denied this rumour.

Earlier a couple of other reports (here and here) claimed that code name of this upcoming console will be Durango. Now, through a tweet Crytek, senior technical artist, Sean Tracy confirmed this information.

This week a developers' summit was held for this console which a Cryrtek developer attended and he disclosed about this meet as well as about the operating code name via a tweet that was removed later.

The tweet read: "Enjoying the Durango developers summit in London. So far, great swag and interesting talks." reported The Verge.

Earlier the same technical senior artist had revealed through another tweet that he has been "seeing some CryEngine licensee videos" that will be made available for public "later next week."
