The Acer Iconia Tab A100, a diminutive 7-inch tablet, can now be had from as little as £200 from Argos, a great price for what is essentially a smaller version of the Acer Iconia A500 for substantially less.
It has a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot (which means that the onboard memory can be increased to 40GB for around £19), a 7-inch 1,024 by 600 pixels touchscreen, WiFi, USB 2.0, a five megapixel rear facing camera and a two megapixel front facing one, a 1530mAh battery, Bluetooth and an overall weight of 450g.
The fact that it runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb means that it should be upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich later in the year.
Argos is also providing with a free carry case for the tablet and oddly enough, the high street retailer sells the non-blue version of the tablet for significantly more.
Acer has also released a cheaper version of the Iconia A500 called the Iconia A200 which surprisingly costs more than the older A500 and doesn’t have a rear camera.
