A new entry has been registered in the Global Download Centre of the Samsung UK support section as the GT-I9308, which comes after the yet to be released GT-I9300 and the GT-I9250M which is the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
Surprisingly the GT-I9300 and the GT-I9308 entries – which could well be the names of the Samsung Galaxy S3 – are not present in the GDC in Samsung’s US website (at least in the GSM 3G section) which could well mean that both smartphones will launch in the UK soon.
Rumours about the next flagship Samsung smartphone have been surfacing more frequently over the last few weeks with reports that the follow up to the Galaxy S2 will have a quad core processor, a 4.8-inch capacitive display with a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels, a 12-megapixel camera, 2GB RAM, a ceramic case, NFC and Wireless charging capabilities.
A number of pictures of what purports to be the device have been leaked already including a couple, from GSMHelpdesk and Weber Shandwick which appear to be the real deal.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 on the two pictures have large speaker grills in the front and a slight bump where the camera is at the back (when viewed from the side) which lead us to believe that it might have a bigger than average sensor.
