A new rumour has surfaced suggesting Nokia fans will be able to access video content on their Windows Phone 7 smartphones through a dedicated app.
The first to spot the intriguing news was the Russian language WP7 Forum which suggested that the most likely line of smartphones to offer this new feature is the Lumia collection.
Apparently, the users will be able not only search for video content on various networks and to stream TV shows over Wi-Fi, but also to download the preferred video files and watch them offline.
The Russian website also pointed out that the app will be released in Nokia's native country and initially it will offer support for local Finnish channels, such as YLE, MTV3 and Nelopen.
For now there is no announced release date for this application and no suggestion of when an international roll-out will occur.
Also, there is no confirmed information on which Nokia smartphones will be able to support the TV app. Nokia is already in full swing revamping its apps for the Lumia family, with options specially designed for entertainment, making it seem the most likely one for now.
