As announced earlier this year, Microsoft is ending its popular students discount structure tomorrow, 31st of March, as it retires the seven year old scheme.
Software4students, one of the online retailers affected by the cuts, says that qualified buyers will be able to get Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus or Office for Mac 2011 from £37.89, Windows 7 Professional Upgrade for £38.49 and Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade from £59.22 as well.
Other Microsoft products like Expression Web 4 and Expression Studio 4 Ultimate are also affected by the closure of the scheme.
Software4students also confirmed that it would launch "a new range of Microsoft Office and Windows 7 products that students and their parents will be able to buy at discounted prices after this date".
Microsoft ran a number of schemes - like the Ultimate Steal - aimed at students and people working in the educational sector in the past and it is likely that going forward, Microsoft will do more of these direct sales projects rather than relying on third parties.
