The Toshiba AT100 Excite is now available from Laptop Outlet from only £239, a tablet just as powerful as the iPad 2 or the Samsung Galaxy Tab but with a £90 discount.
LIke other large screen Android tablets, it comes with a 10.1-inch capacitive display with a 1,280 by 800 pixels resolution and Toshiba's own proprietary screen technology called Resolution + which it says "upscale standard definition sources to provide sharper and clearer images with improved edge detail and better textural content".
There's also a dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 system on chip clocked at 1GHz, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage with a SD card reader, HDMI out, a five megapixel camera at the back and a front facing 2-megapixel camea, USB 2.0, mini USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and up to 11 hours battery life.
Having full size USB means that you can plug in external peripherals like a mouse and a keyboard, which removes the need to have a docking station.
The tablet runs on Android 3.1 honeycomb and therefore gives you full access to Android Play. However, it is a tad heavy at 765g and thick at nearly 16mm and not everyone will like its rubbery contoured feel. Note that the item is a reconditioned model.
