The next Samsung Galaxy device has had a fair smattering of rumours, speculation and leaks, but it looks like we may have a confirmation on what the handset will be called.
Samsung Kies, the desktop syncing client for the company’s devices, has been snapshotted as listing two phones by the name of “Galaxy S3″. There is a slight difference between the model numbers, GT-I9300 and GT-I9300T respectively.
This isn’t the first time Samsung has flaunted the name of its next device. Earlier this week, Samsung released a Samsung Mobile UNPACKED 2012 app on Google Play which clearly referenced the Galaxy S3.
The previous Galaxy S2 has the official title of “Galaxy SII”, listing its generation in Roman numerals. Sources suggest that the next device will drop the use of numerals in favour of regular old number “3”.
The only name for the smartphone from Samsung itself is the “next Galaxy”, but we have an invite to the launch on the 3rd May! We’ll be live blogging the event so you’ll be first to know what the smartphone is officially named.
