On Mother's Day, Women Want iPads, Not Flowers

Don't think another bunch of flowers will impress your mom too much on this upcoming American Mother's Day. She would very much rather have a new iPad, according to a new survey released by the shopping site TechBargains.

Moms are quite tech savvy, reveals the survey. Despite the small percentage of women admitting they are very experienced with consumer technology (merely 4 per cent), 54 per cent of the mothers are comfortable with tech.

The poll reveals that 91 per cent of mothers who agreed to answer to the questions, want an Apple tablet more than the traditional flowers. The survey has also pointed out that most of the gifts will miss the mark, as online shoppers said what they would gift.

While 31 per cent of mothers want tech gadgets, only 11 per cent will receive such a gift. The flowers are not such a sought after gift, as only 13 per cent of the moms taking part in the survey really want them.

However, 26 per cent of the moms will get flowers. The majority of the polled people plan to spend an average of $50 or less.
