A jailbreak developer who calls himself Pod2g (and also respected member of the Cydia community) has made an important announcement on his Twitter account. He let his followers know that he has found two huge vulnerabilities in iOS 5.1 and is a step closer in releasing an untethered jailbreak for the latest version of Apple's mobile operating system.
"Heya! My iPhone 4 running iOS 5.1 is now untethered :-)" announced Pod2g. He didn't give any details about the estimated release time for the jailbreak. However, he is on the right track though...
In the past few months, iOS users received two well reputed jailbreaks. Corona is specifically built to work on any device powered by Apple's A4 processor, whilst the Absinthe jailbreak delivers an untethered solution for iPad 2 and iPhone 4S owners.
Jailbreakers are constantly looking for new security loopholes to allow them to develop the expected jailbreak. The problem is, Apple could release iOS 6 sooner than expected.
