Apple Working On Multi-User Support For iPad

Usually when people submit a bug report to Apple, the last thing the company would expect to receive is some constructive criticism - but that's exactly what happened after a developer suggested to Apple that it should add multi-user support to the iPad.

The iPad maker promptly informed him that the problem reported is currently under investigation and that Apple's engineering teams are looking to provide a solution.

The Apple Developer Connection's Worldwide Developer Relations team sent the following official response to the developer:

"After further investigation it has been determined that this is a known issue, which is currently being investigated by engineering." The anonymous reporter said to AppleInsider that he had previously used Apple's Bug Reporter to suggest new features but that the company's latest response was the first time Apple had addressed his query.

This is not the first time Apple is rumoured to have worked on multi-user support for its tablets. In the early days, before the original iPad was released, The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple's working prototypes allowed the devices to be customised by the family members.

Now the rumours give stronger indication to this theory with many tech writers suggesting that Apple might introduce face recognition systems, allowing multiple members to be recognised by the device.
