SAP has announced that its Afaria mobile device management solution is now available on Amazon Web Services.
The SAP Afaria 7.0 server on the AWS Marketplace is a comprehensive mobile security and management platform for enterprises.
Andy Jassy, senior vice president, Amazon Web Services, commented: "Adding SAP Afaria to AWS Marketplace provides customers a fast, simple and trusted way to shop for and implement an enterprise-ready mobile solution."
SAP Afaria is potential piece of the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) puzzle, with the company pointing to a July 2011 study that shows 75 per cent of organisations now permit the use of employee devices for business purposes. Regulating and managing these devices is an important facet of company security, and one that Afaria has been honed to accomplish over the last ten years.
Afaria oversees mobile data, devices and apps across an entire enterprise from a single console. Version 7.0 has been graced with a refined and streamlined UI, and has added further features such as mobile analytics. A two week free trial is available on the AWS Marketplace.
Sanjay Poonen, president, Product Go-to-Market, and head of Mobile Division, SAP, commented: "By offering SAP Afaria on the secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure, we are extending our existing close relationship with AWS and making it as easy as possible for customers and partners to test and deploy the industry's leading mobile device management solution in an economical and reliable fashion."
