The tablet/smartphone hybrid from Asus, the Padfone, which has impressed the market since Asus released the first demo video, has done it again. Nicole Scott from NetbookNews ran the Vellamo, Quadrant, NenaMark, AnTuTu and SunSpider tests on the device and the benchmarking showed that the Padfone is "one of the top phones on the market."
On Vellamo and Quadrant, the Padfone scored higher than its competitors, including Samsung's Galaxy Tab, Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S. The Asus Padfone features a Qualcomm S4 Dual Core processor at 1.5GHz, based on the latest ARM Cortex A15 chip.
Apart from the powerful processor, the device sports a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED display, with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. What makes the Padfone unique is its ability to transform from a pocket smartphone into a tablet and even a notebook, with the appropriate accessories.
The dedicated tablet allows the phone to slip in, has a 10.1 inch screen and a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. To top it all, the device comes with Ice Cream Sandwich, right out of the box.
