American consumer electronics manufacturer Sonos have confirmed the release of its latest piece of wireless music hardware, a subwoofer, which will hit UK markets on the 19th of June and retail from £599.

The imaginatively titled SUB complements the company's existing range of multi-zone music devices, slotting in seamlessly with products like the Play:3, Play:5, and the ZonePlayer series to offer music enthusiasts a fully integrated hi-fi system without the untidy mess of cables of yesteryear.

In addition to obtaining a heavier bass sound when they desire, users can also sync the product to their smart devices, controlling the SUB from computers, mobiles, and tablets using a free app available for Android, iPad, iPhone, Mac and PC platforms.

"Our new SUB is designed from the inside out and has all the hallmarks of a great product: clear, deep, all-digital sound, an incredibly simple setup, and beautiful design," says company CEO John MacFarlene.

A cheaper version of the bespoke piece of bass kit - which features dual acoustic ports and two class D digital amps - will be available from October 2012 at £499.
