Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé would be celebrating his 166th birthday today, and Google has honoured the occasion with a special Google doodle.
Fabergé was best known for producing exquisite jewelled objects and the doodle depicts some of the iconic eggs fashioned by him and his team of master jewellers.
Fabergé was born in Saint Petersburg, Russia on 30 May, 1846. His Baltic German father, Gustav Fabergé was also a jeweller. Inspired by Gustav, Peter developed a worldwide reputation for his work, with the famous Easter egg designs among his most memorable pieces. He died on 24 September, 1920 at the age of 74.
Unfortunately, other than displaying the eggs, the doodle doesn't do anything else. Fairly boring to Google's last attempt, an interactive Moog synthetiser.
