Alcatel One Touch Ultra 995 goes on preorder for £170

I discussed extensively with Alcatel at the recent Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and was introduced to the company's portfolio for 2012.

Its flagship model for this year is the Alcatel One Touch Ultra 995 which has gone on preorder at Expansys, as a SIM Free handset, for £170.

The device is an EUmodel which means that it comes with an EU plug and a UK AC adaptor which also means that the phone has not been officially launched here.

Still you get a lot for your money. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread (upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich), has a fast 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, the MSM8255T, 512MB of RAM, 2GB of ROM (and a microSD card slot), a 4.3in 800 x 480 pixels capacitive display, microUSB, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Bluetooth, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front facing one plus a 1500mAh battery.

The One Touch Ultra 995 also features Alcatel's own 3D user interfaace, weighs a mere 124g and is 9.8mm thick.
