Stay clear of Carphone Warehouse's Samsung Galaxy S3 free broadband deal

by Desire Athow, 09 Jun, 2012 News

Carphone Warehouse is currently giving away TalkTalk Essentials for free to Samsung Galaxy S3 customers.

However, the small print tells another story. Worse, TalkTalk offers another TalkTalk Essentials package on its website which proves to be a much better and cheaper package.

As a reminder, TalkTalk's stand alone package costs £3.25 per month with line rental from £9.50 (when you pay for one whole year, an option not offered in the "free version").

The total cost of ownership is £153 over a year and you get unlimited download (subject to fair usage policy) as well as 1500 minutes to mobile numbers spread over the first three months.

In comparison, the package that comes free with the Galaxy S3 costs £14.50 per month or £174 per month (that's £21 more than the other package) and comes with a 40GB data allowance.

Both packages are only valid for new customers, offer HomeSafe, free connection, unlimited evening & weekend calls to UK landlines and 10 per cent off 16 phone numbers you call the most.

Hence, we'd advise our readers to stay clear from Carphone Warehouse's TalkTalk broadband offer and instead go direct to Talktalk.
