E2save, a subsidiary of Carphone Warehouse, sells the Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini for £49.90 with a compulsory topup from T-Mobile adding another £10 to the price. Note that the handset is unlocked.
The device, which was launched last year, comes with a 3in LCD display with a 480 x 320 pixels display, a single core Qualcomm MSM8255 processor clocked at 1GHz, 512MB RAM, Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the Timescape UI, Wi-Fi, a 5-megapixel camea with flash and a weight of just 99g.
Other features include GPS, Bluetooth, USB, HD video capabilities, a thickness of 16mm, up to 270 minutes talktime, 320MB onboard storage, up to 32GB microSD card slot, a FM radio.
The phone is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich making it one of the smallest phone to be able to take on Google's latest OS. It is also by far the cheapest ICS compatible handset on the market and the fastest smartphone under £100.
There are currently no handset with a 1GHz processor under £100 as far as we know; the Huawei Ascend G300 is the next one.
