Sony Xperia U dual core smartphone now costs £149

E2save, the mobile phone retailer owned by Carphone Warehouse, is selling the Sony Xperia U via its Facebook page for only £149 (you need to buy an additional £10 topup). The phone is very likely to be unlocked and unbranded as are most Carphone Warehouse handsets.

The price of the Xperia U has fallen significantly since its introduction back in February 2012 at MWC. Like its bigger brother, the Xperia S, has a touch-sensitive controls (a translucent strip bar) and weighs a mere 110g.

Other features include Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, Timescape UI, Sony 3D surround sound audio technology, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth, microUSB, USB on-the-go support, a 5-megapixel, HD video, VGA front facing camera, 3D sweep panorama, Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread with a planned upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 1320mAh battery with a talk time of up to 400 minutes.
