Sony Xperia U dual core smartphone now costs £149

by Desire Athow, 13 Jun, 2012 Deals

E2save, the mobile phone retailer owned by Carphone Warehouse, is selling the Sony Xperia U via its Facebook page for only £149 (you need to buy an additional £10 topup). The phone is very likely to be unlocked and unbranded as are most Carphone Warehouse handsets.

The price of the Xperia U has fallen significantly since its introduction back in February 2012 at MWC. It comes with a dual core Cortex A9-based ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 clocked at 1GHz with Mali-400MP GPU with 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage and a 3.5in 854 x 480 pixels LED-backlit capacitive touchscreen covered by a scratch resistant glass.

Like its bigger brother, the Xperia S, has a touch-sensitive controls (a translucent strip bar) and weighs a mere 110g.

Other features include Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine, Timescape UI, Sony 3D surround sound audio technology, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth, microUSB, USB on-the-go support, a 5-megapixel, HD video, VGA front facing camera, 3D sweep panorama, Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread with a planned upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 1320mAh battery with a talk time of up to 400 minutes.
