Microsoft launched two competitions at the end of last week (ends on 22 July) where IT professionals (and the rest of us) are being encouraged to vote for their favourite videos based from a group of three.

The videos, which can be found on a dedicated Technet page, depict life in a normal office on a Monday morning, on a Wednesday afternoon and in an IT department at 3PM, all involving people trying to get their IT manager to give them IE9 at work and according to Microsoft, they are "prepared to go to extreme lengths" for this to happen.

Users who choose the winning video will be entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning £500 worth of lastminute.com vouchers or £500 worth of Virgin Experience Days vouchers.

In addition they will be able to participate in another Facebook competition for company employees to " create a video to show how far they'd go to get Internet Explorer 9 at work". And Microsoft to give some examples. "Showing off their unique dance skills, singing a song of appreciation, baking a cake, giving their IT Manager a hug - or something totally different?"

Entries may enable someone to win similar prizes as the ones listed above plus a limited edition Microsoft Xbox 360 320GB Star Wars Kinect gaming console.
