Sharp 60in LCD TV monster costs £999

by Desire Athow, 15 Jun, 2012 Deals

John Lewis is stocking the Sharp Aquos LC60LE636E which despite its mammoth 60in diagonal display and a five year warranty only costs £999, a price that includes free delivery, unlike what some competitors do.

It features Dolby Digital Plus audio technology, an anti-reflection coating, DLNA compatibility, a 100Hz motion compensated field rate, an ultra thin bezel, Freeview HD tuner, four HDMI inputs, a headphone socket, a memory card reader, SCART, a full HD resolution, two speakers with a 20W output RMS, three USB ports and weighs 32.6Kg.

Alternatively, if you don't need the warranty, there's at least one retailer (Comet) that offers the screen for as little as £900 (use TV10 at checkout - offer ends on Saturday). Prices of LCD televisions have tumbled down significantly over the past few years.

A 32in model from a reputable vendor (Sharp) can be had for well under £200 while 42in models command prices starting from £299. Ditto for 3D models with the cheapest available for less than £250.
