If you are after a large capacity iPad 3 (or new iPad) and don't need 3G capabilities, you might want to look at the model sold by online e-tailer Oyyy.
At £500, the 64GB model on offer is still way more expensive than the rest of the competition (including the iPad 2) but then one has to bear in mind that the iPad 3 comes with a Retina Display with a 3.1-megapixel resolution.
There are currently no other tablets on the market capable of reaching this resolution and two megapixel models (like the Asus Eee Transformer Prime) often come with 16GB on-board storage and cost around £350s with the cost of a 64GB microSD card slot adding another £30 to the cost.
Apple's tablet comes with a new A5X processor which doubles the amount of GPU cores, a display with a 44 per cent greater colour saturation, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, full HD video recording, iOS 5 and much more.
How Oyyy managed to bring down its price remains a mystery in a sector where Apple dictates the pricing strategy and often offers retailers razor slim margins which are then boosted up thanks to peripherals.
