At least two Chinese retailers, DX.com and Pandawill, are selling a HDMI dongle that houses an ultra small computer that rivals the Raspberri Pi, which costs £16. (Why not read our review of the Raspberry Pi)
That particular dongle is even smaller than the one we found last month and perhaps more importantly, a more powerful dual core model. It features a Telechip TCC 8925 which is a dual core Cortex-A5 processor clocked at 1.5GHz (or 1GHz) with 512MB RAM, a Mali400MP GPU, 4GB onboard storage, a microUSB port (for power) and a USB port to plug any USB-compatible devices (USB drive, peripherals etc).
The device supports Wi-Fi, weighs 25g, has a HDMI port but no microSD card reader. It runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and should be upgradable to Jelly Bean when the latter is more widely available towards the end of the year.
As expected though, the device doesn't come with a keyboard or mouse, A-GPS, 3G functionality or Bluetooth.
Compared to the Raspberry Pi, you get an OS, a more powerful CPU and a proper product for around £15 extra.
