Canon all-in-one Wi-Fi colour printer goes on sale for £21

Canon is clearing out existing stocks of its Pixma MP495 all-in-one Wi-Fi colour photo printer. The device is refurbished but comes with a full one-year manufacturer’s warranty and costs only £20.94 including delivery.

The printer has a resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi and can print at nearly 9ipm in mono and 5ipm colour with a 10 x 15cm photo, which Canon claims is of photolab-quality, printed out in just 41 seconds.

Other noteworthy features include two picolitres ink droplets, a quick start mode, automatic paper tray opening, Full HD movie printing, a 1,200 dpi scanner and of course Wi-Fi. There’s no card reader, though, or even an LCD display to preview the pictures.

Note that it uses two cartridges rather than one-cartridge-per-colour. Owners of the printer point out that it is compact and quiet, has a great design and is simple to use, but that setting up Wi-Fi can be quite tricky and convoluted.

Still, for a printer that costs less than its cartridges, comes with free delivery, full warranty, scanning capabilities and can deliver decent prints without wires, the Pixma MP495 ticks all the boxes of a great deal.
