UK retailer Viking Direct is selling the Brother HL-3040CN colour laser printer for £118.80 with free delivery and a £50 cashback offer direct from Brother, which brings the cost down to £68.80.

The HL-3040CN has a suggested retail price of £204 and produces up to 16 pages per minute (either colour or mono) thanks to its single pass colour electrophotographic LED technology. It also sports 32MB cache and a 600dpi print resolution.

The input tray can handle 250 A4 sheets while its output tray can accomodate a healthy 100 sheets. Connectivity options include an Ethernet port and a USB port.

Not surprisingly though, the cost of consumables for the printer is higher than you’d expect. Printerland sells a pack of four toners (CMYK) for a whopping £260, with the belt unit costing an additional £85 and the drum pack, an extra £100.
