Motorola RAZR smartphone on sale for £249

British supermarket Asda has put the Motorola RAZR (unlocked and unbranded) on sale for a mere £249 including delivery.

The phone is one of the thinnest in the world at only 7.1mm and it weighs a mere 127g, thanks partly to the woven Kevlar used for its back cover and the machined stainless steel core used in its construction.

It runs on a dual-core TI OMAP4430 system-on-chip which is clocked at 1.2GHz. Other features include a 4.3in Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540 resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, an 8-megapixel camera, a front-facing 1.3-megapixel one, a 1,800mAh battery offering up to 10 hours of battery life, DLNA, HDMI, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot.

The Motorola RAZR runs on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and there will be an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Interestingly, the handset also comes with a splash-proof hydrophobic coating that protects the device from liquids (though that doesn’t make it completely waterproof).

Check our hands on the new Motorola RAZR HD, the RAZR HD Maxx and the RAZR M. All three handsets were unveiled at the beginning of September, with more coming up this Wednesday courtesy of Motorola UK.
