Maxell Airstash wireless USB flash drive down to £88

The Maxell Airstash is a device that merges a mobile hotspot with a USB card reader which makes it perfect if you want to allow non-expandable devices (like an iPhone or an iPad) to have access and share a storage device.

This model, available from Expansys, costs £88 including delivery and comes with 8GB onboard storage. The Airstash comes with a SD card slot which allows up to 128GB cards to be inserted plus it can be used as a Web Server, a media streamer or a WebDAV server.

It comes with a built-in 500mAh battery which allows up to seven hours battery life and can be recharged via a USB 2.0 port; there’s even a free app available on the App Store which can act as a media browser.

Multiple devices can connect to it via Wi-Fi and with a line-of-sight range of up to 50m wirelessly and the size of a pack of chewing gum, it can be concealed fairly easily.

The Seagate GoFlex Satellite hard disk drive, which was launched last year, which uses a magnetic hard disk drive, has a five hours battery life and can broadcast to three devices simultaneously.

It is more expensive (at £125) but comes with a 500GB storage capacity.
