LG 50PA4500 50in Plasma TV available from £400

LG 50PA4500 50in Plasma TV available from £400

Meet the LG 50PA4500, the latest entry level Plasma TV from the Korean manufacturer, which only costs £399.97 at Ebuyer including delivery (note you can get a three year warranty plus accident protection for an additional £59). This is, we suspect, one of the cheapest 50in TV sets on the market.

The TV can display 50 frames per second, with each of them having 12 sub-fields, which LG says provide zero motion blur and razor sharp response time. It also comes with an intelligent sensor which automatically adjusts the display’s brightness, sharpness, colour and contrast according to the surroundings.

Other features include Freeview, a USB port, two HDMI ports, a very slim bezel, a resolution upscaler, a VGA port, a 1,024 x 768 resolution, two 10 Watt speakers and Dolby Digital.

Arguably, the biggest let-down and the main reason it is so cheap, is that the LG 50PA4500's display is HD-ready rather than full HD.

If you're planning on watching television channels rather than playing games, this will suffice. Otherwise, you’d probably be better off spending a little more and buying a full HD television set.
