Acer has announced two new Windows 8 Pro tablets ahead of Microsoft’s grand Windows 8 event next week, which will also see the official debut of Windows 8 Pro Surface tablets.
The Iconia W700P runs on an Ivy Bridge Intel Core processor, has an 11.6in 1,920 x 1,080 IPS display with 10-point touch, Dolby Home Theater and a nifty little cradle that provides three USB 3.0 ports and a sound tunnel that can amplify sound naturally without using any extra speakers.
There’s even a stylus and Acer claims that the device can last for up to 80 days in Deep Sleep mode. It has a webcam, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and can connect to the web in 2.5 seconds.
The W510P, in comparison, doesn’t have a dock but a docking keyboard that turns it into a potentially more interesting ultra-portable laptop that has a 10in IPS display and promises up to 18 hours battery life, all in a Windows 8 Pro environment.
Both the W510P and the W700P appear to share a number of features but Acer has yet to give more details regarding pricing and availability but one can expect all to be revealed as from next week.
