Until the official launch of Windows Phone 8 in the UK on 29 Monday, customers will get a 10 per cent discount on all existing Windows Phone 7.5 handsets from Phones4U when they upgrade to one of them.
The cheapest phone on offer is the HTC Radar which costs as little as £71.96 when purchased instore, and upgrading on pay as you go on selected networks.
The smartphone is on sale online for £89.96 when purchased with a £10 airtime on T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2 or Orange, plus it comes with one year free W-Fi courtesy of the Cloud with a fair usage policy of 500MB data.
It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255 system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz with 512MB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera with a BSI sensor and a F2.2 lens, a front facing VGA cam, a 3.8in super LCD display covered with Gorilla Glass display with a 800 x 480 pixels display, 8GB onboard storage and 720p HD video recording.
The HTC Radar got a 3/5 when it was reviewed earlier this year while it cost £342 and the reviewer found it fast and responsive with a great chassis built, but it was hampered by a lack of memory expansion and no support for flash.
