The number of Blu-ray disc players from brand names available for less than £50 is growing steadily, with the Philips BDP3200 being the latest to join the ranks. This product is currently available from Ebuyer with free delivery for £49.98.

It comes with DVD upscaling capabilities and supports Dolby Digital, DTS digital, Dolby True HD digital, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD Master Audio. Its connectivity is rather impressive with an Ethernet port, HDMI, a front USB and a slew of legacy audio and video ports.

Other features include DiVX Plus HD, the ability to stream Youtube content (something most contemporary set top boxes can do), BD-Live, Easylink (allowing you to control all HDMI CEC devices using a single remote) and a standby power consumption of only 300mW.

Ebuyer says that the drive is Wi-Fi ready although this would almost certainly require an optional dongle.
