You can grab a Series 5 Ultrabook from Samsung (via Currys) for as little as £599 and while that’s a decent deal, it’s made even sweeter by the fact that the company is giving away a free tablet worth at least £118. That’s the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 2.0 and you can read its review here.
The NP530U3C is a very decent mainstream Ultrabook, one of a new wave that comes with a hybrid storage subsystem consisting of a small amount of flash memory (24GB) and a massive hard disk drive (500GB).
The rest of the specification is rather common. It runs on Windows 8 and is powered by an Intel Core i3-3217U processor with two cores clocked at 1.8GHz and 3MB L3 cache, based on the Ivy Bridge architecture.
It comes with 6GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 subsystem, a 13.3in 1,366x768 resolution, a card reader, two USB 2.0 ports and one USB 3.0 one, GbE, Wi-Fi, VGA/HDMI, a 4-cell 45Whr battery that features an anti-ageing technology and can power the Ultrabook for up to seven hours, all packed in a device that’s only 1.52Kg heavy.
The free tab offer is valid until the end of February 2013 and the NP530U3C is the only Series 5 Ultrabook that is eligible.
