The Flickr app for iPhone has received a complete redesign via a new update. The new look is designed to offer easier navigation and allows for instant login through users’ Yahoo! or Facebook account details.
The revamped iOS client now offers 16 unique camera filters and enables sharing for Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and email.
A large chunk of the redesign, including the new navigation bar and metadata editor, is borrowed from the previously updated Android version of the application.
Flickr’s main website has also received an overhaul in line with its ethos of easy navigation.
“The new layout seamlessly lets you view some of the most stunning and beautiful images uploaded to Flickr,” said Flickr in a statement.
“Check out the most interesting photos added in the last 24 hours or go back in time to see amazing photos from the past.”
The photo-sharing service’s parent company Yahoo! has been championing a mobile-first focus recently, a strategy which it recently demonstrated through its facelift of Yahoo! Mail.
This approach may explain the company’s decision to focus on the smartphone application, as there is no upgrade available for the iPad yet.Leave a comment on this article
