The Skydrive app for Xbox 360 is now live in the UK, it focuses on photo and video integration, potentially bringing all the media files stored on Skydrive to your Xbox-connected TV.
“This means your favourite content is now only one click away, whether you are using the Web, your PC, your phone, or now, even your big screen TV,” Microsoft said in a blog post.
When a user is signed into the same Microsoft account on Xbox Live and Windows Phone, the app will upload a just-taken photo onto the big screen in real time.
“When we thought about all of the possibilities of introducing SkyDrive to the Xbox 360 environment, there were lots of features we could have tied together,” program manager Dan Somrack wrote on the blog.
“But we wanted to focus on the scenarios that people have told us they would find most valuable.”
Making life even easier, the SkyDrive app for Xbox supports Kinect voice controls and gestures, as well as remote and controller input.
“Yes, this means you can view a slide show of your SkyDrive photos just by talking to your Xbox,” Somrack said.
To get started, browse the Xbox console’s apps to find SkyDrive in the “social” category.
The dedicated console applications don’t stop there however, as Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb announced, over 40 new apps are set to come to the Xbox 360 by spring 2013 such as Napster for the console’s UK user base.Leave a comment on this article
