Lenovo rolls out portable, touch-enabled monitor

Lenovo launched its Lenovo ThinkVision LT1423p Touch Mobile Monitor. The 13.3-inch AH-IPS monitor is targeted at traveling professionals who need an on-the-go second display to augment the one on their laptop or ultrabook.

At 13.3 inches, the LT1423p is smaller than the 14-inch Lenovo ThinkVision LT1421. It weighs 1.6 pounds and measures 0.6-inch at its thickest point and 0.3-inch at its thinnest point. It sports a Gorilla Glass screen with anti-reflection and a surface that's meant to repel fingerprints. The screen has a 1,600-by-900 resolution and a brightness of 300 nits. It has a contrast ratio of 500:1.

At 13.3 inches, the LT1423p has a single USB 3.0 port and can be powered by hooking it up to a computer via the interface. It also offers optional Wi-Fi connectivity. It comes with a cover, as well as a stand to support the monitor in landscape and portrait mode. It offers 10-point multitouch functionality and comes with a digitiser pen for use with the screen. It comes optimised for Microsoft Windows 8.

Pricing for the monitor start at $349 (£215). Availability has yet to be announced.
