Audio and home theatre manufacturer Onkyo has introduced two brand new pairs of headphones and a couple of earphone sets at CES 2013, as the company looks to expand its hi-fi repertoire.
The Onkyo ES-HF300 and Onkyo ES-FC300 look sleek and stylish from first impressions, with a single aluminium hanger and wide driver housing creating a striking look. The ES-HF300 (below), coming in at £179, features an audiophile-grade cable, while the cheaper ES-FC300 (top image), priced £149, is available in three colour options – black (with detachable red cable), white (with detachable white cable), and purple (with detachable purple cable). The headphones are expected to be available in March.
Joining the on-ear cans from Onkyo is the in-ear duo of the IE-HF300 and IE-FC300, which will hit store shelves in April. Powered by a 14.3mm transducer, Onkyo promises “silky bass and an open and natural mid-range” with these earphones.
The IE-HF300, priced £129, is packaged with a detachable audiophile-grade 6N copper cable, while the IE-FC300, costing £99, comes with red, violet, or white tangle-free elastomer cable which can also be detached.Leave a comment on this article
