£80 Sumvision Cyclone Voyager: Is this the best tablet under £100?

Ebuyer is selling the Sumvision Cyclone Voyager, a 7in Android tablet, on its eBay outlet for £80 including 80 Nectar points. The device packs some jaw-dropping specifications which we wouldn’t expect on a product that affordable.

It is powered by a dual-core Rockchip RK3066 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz and paired with a quad-core Mali-400 GPU solution. That is more powerful than the SoC in the iPhone 4S, the iPad 2 or the Samsung Galaxy S2.

There’s also 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot, a 800 x 480 7in display (possibly the only corner cut), Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 3200mAh battery, mini HDMI and micro USB ports, a front facing webcam and a weight of only 323g.

The entry-level tablet market is currently divided between white-box models from manufacturers like Sumvision and branded products like the Acer Iconia B1 or the (much more expensive) Google Nexus 7.

However, the Cyclone Voyager is a real challenger to both thanks to its incredible value for money and backing from Ebuyer. If only it had a display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution, it would be without any doubts one of our favourite tablets.
